The EHL NH Avalanche is proud to announce that goalie Nathan Picket decided to extend his academic and athletic career at Suffolk University.  The Rams play their home games at the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Rink and play in the NEHC Div 3 College Hockey Conference.  The team is coached by Head Coach Chris Glionna who is in his 15th season as the Rams Head Coach.  Pickett came to the Avalanche from Worcester Academy Prep and quickly climbed to the top of the EHL and has earned his opportunity to play at the college hockey level next season.  In his 19 starts this season the Auburn, Ma native is 18-1 and boasts a very impressive 1.66GAA and a .942 which gives him the best stats in the EHL with goalies who have played over 1000 minutes.  Pickett is very happy with his decision to attend Suffolk next season and is also excited about the Avs playoff run.  "I would like to thank my family, especially my mother, who has always supported me.  I know my father would be very proud of my decision to attend Suffolk University both on the ice and in the classroom.  I also would like to thank Coach Cerrella and the entire NH Avalanche organization for bringing me into part of their culture of success to help me grow and get better," said Pickett.  The 1999 netminder is going to be heavily relied by the Avs down the stretch and into the playoffs.  "Pickett was a great early addition to our team he has come in and earned everything he has received this season.  I think he is going to be great at the college level he moves very well in the crease and is very calm, he gives you a chance to win every night.  I think he is a great addition to the Rams hockey program and a great addition to Suffolk Universities strong academic community.  I am happy to see Pickett go to college exactly where he wanted to go, I wish him and his family nothing but the best of luck," said Chris Cerrella.  With 11 games remaining on the season and the Avs looking to clinch a first round bye you can guarantee Nathan Pickett will be between the pipes for the NH Avalanche.  Stay tuned as their is more college hockey commitment announcements coming soon from the NH Avalanche.
