EHL FORWARD ERNSTER CHOOSES WENTWORTH INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DIV III

The NH Avalanche proud member of the EHL is proud to announce their 11th Ncaa College Hockey commitment of the 2018-19 season.  Speedy forward Matt Ernster has decided to continue his athletic and academic career at Wentworth Institute of Technology.  The Leopards play in the CCC Div 3 college hockey conference and are coached by Head Coach Jay Pecora and Asst Coach Ryan McGrath.  Ernster came to the Avalanche from Trinity Pawling Prep and is having a good season for the Avs.  In 28 games the speedy winger has 19pts and has been a big part of the Avalanche very successful penalty kill.  The Barrington, RI native is looking forward to the rest of the season before heading to Wentworth to be part of their very successful engineering program.  "I think this is a great fit for Matt both on the ice and in the classroom.  He wanted engineering and that is what Wentworth is known for and the Wentworth coaching staff is very excited about bringing Matt in next season.  I think he is going to be a very successful college hockey player and a great addition to the Wentworth community.  We wish Erny nothing but the best of luck in the future," said Chris Cerrella.  The power forward has been very good this season and has been depended on in all three zones and has been a PK specialist for the Avs so far this season.   Ernster will be looked upon down the stretch to continue to bring the jam every day and is very excited for his opportunity to play college hockey and attend a school like Wentworth.  "I am very excited to be a part of Wentworth's academic and athletic community in the years to come.  I would like to thank Coach Cerrella and Coach Martiniello for helping me through the process and giving me the insight I needed to make the right choice.  I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting me throughout my hockey career as well as my past coaches who have all helped me develop as a player and person," said Ernster.  With 12 games remaining in the EHL regular season Ernster and the Avalanche have on thing in mind, returning to the Final Four at Providence College.  There will be more college hockey commitment announcements coming soon, stay tuned.  The Avalanche once again prove they are the #KINGSOFNH
