All coaches would agree that without strong goaltending it is tough to compete at any level.  The EHL Avs have done well over the last two seasons and goaltending has been a big key to their success.  During the 2017-18 season the Avalanche sent Nick Sorgio and Mike Paglucca into the crease every game both goalies were among the top 5 in the EHL.  This season the Avs put a young man named Nathan Pickett between the pipes.  The Auburn, Ma native played last season at Worcester Academy where he was very good and he has continued his success this season for the Avs in the EHL.  Boasting a 14-1 over all record where he sits 4th in the EHL and also carries a 1.77gaa and a .940sv% which is the best in the EHL.  "Pickett has given us a chance to win every game and that is the key to being a top end goaltender.  He has played all the top teams and all the big games for us and he is finding success.  If he continues to push himself and continues to compete every day some very good things will happen for him.  He has some college hockey offers right now he is taking his time to see what feels right or he may decide to play another season for us.  Whatever he decides to do he will find success he is a good young man and a great athlete.  I can not wait to see what he can accomplish in the future," said Chris Cerrella.  The 1999 netminder is preparing himself for the stretch run knowing that he is going to be counted on to be brilliant in net.  He is up for the challenge and looking to defend the Avalanches EHL Title. With 15 games remaining the Avs are looking to seal up first place and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.  Stay tuned to www.nhavalanche.com and our social media pages for more news and college commitment announcements.
