The EHL NH Avalanche is proud to announce its 8th NCAA College Hockey commitment of the season. Captain Matt Kassab has chosen to continue his academic and athletic career at Lebanon Valley College in the UCHC Div III College Hockey Conference.  The Flying Dutchmen play their home games at the Hershey Park Arena and they are coached by Head Coach Don Parsons who is in his third season behind the bench.

Kassab in his second season  with the Avalanche and was a big part of the 17-18 EHL championship team.  The power forward was named Captain over the off season and his leadership is a reason why the Avs are off to a hot start in the 2018-19 season.  His size, skill, toughness and leadership drew a lot of college attention and are the key pieces that will help Kassab become a succesful college hockey player.  "Matt plays a heavy game, he is a big strong young man.  I have used him in all situation over the last two seasons and he will be really depended on down the stretch and into the playoffs.  He has the ability to be very effective at the next level and Coach Parsons and I talked a lot about what he brings to the table as a freshman.  I believe he is going to have a very successful college hockey career, Lebanon Valley is very luck to have Matt in their locker room and in the community.  I am very happy for the Kassab family and wish them nothing but the best," said Chris Cerrella.

The Stafford, Va native has 26pts in 24gp so far this season and is very excited to help his team defend the EHL Title.  He is also very excited to be finishing up his final year of Junior- hockey and heading off to LVC.  "I am very excited to be joining the Lebanon Valley College community and joining the Flying Dutchmen.  I have finally earned the opportunity to play college hockey and I am very thankful for the opportunity that Coach Parsons has offered me.  I would like to thank Coach Cerrella and the entire NH Avalanche hockey program for everything they have done for me the last two seasons.  I want to thank my team mates for believing in me as a player and as a Captain.  I want to spend a special thanks to my family without your constant support throughout my hockey career this would have never happened.  I am excited to help the Avs defend the EHL title and I am excited about the future," said Kassab.

The NH Avs begin the second half of the season on Jan 9th and Matt Kassab will be making sure his team is prepared to make another run to title town.
