The season is underway and the NH Avalanche has begun defending their EHL Title and in their first two games the Avs seem to start off on the right foot going 2-0 in their first two games.  This past weekend the 2-1 NE Wolves came to the Ice Den Arena on a high note with wins over the Walpole Express and the EC Wizards and looking to continue to rack up the wins.  The NH Avalanche had something else in mind as they out shot and out scored the Wolves early.  After the first period the Avs out-shot the Wolves 26-4 and built a 5-1 lead with scoring from five different players.  The second period was a back and fourth period with lots of special team action and the NE Wolves gained some spark and heading into the locker room after the second period the Avs held onto a 5-3 lead.  In the third the Avs seem to find their stride again scoring two more times on goals by Captain Matt Kassab and Wiggle Kerbrat.  The two goals sealed a 7-4 victory in the Avs home-opener at the Ice Den Arena, goalie Kyle Konin got the win.

On Wednesday the Avs will hit the road to Stoneham, Ma to take on the Boston Jr Rangers who were a final four participant last season.  The Avs once again came out buzzing scoring 4 goals in the first period getting goals from Jake Adkins (2), Wiggle Kerbrat and Jake Blackwell.  The second period was a quiet period as both teams seemed to not be able to find a groove and the period ended with the Avs holding their 4-0 lead.  The third period featured some hard hit and fast pace on both sides and both teams light the lamp.  Avs goal was scored by forward Cole Archambeault who want cross bar down on Rangers goalie Ben Parker giving his team their fifth goal of the day.  The Avs got a solid performance in net by newly acquired goalie Nathan Pickett who turned aside 28 shots.  "I am happy but not satisfied where we are right now, we have to learn from our little mistakes and tighten up with little things.  I think if we do that we will do a good job in a strong EHL league.  I like the way we have competed and I like our team shape, we have a lot of good young men in our room and a lot of good students.  It is still very early but I like where we are right now" said Chris Cerrella.
