When you think of the EHL junior league you think of college placements.  The league is ranked as the top NCAA Div II and Div III college placement league in the country and looks like it will continue that trend at the end of the 2017-18 season.  The Jr Avalanche in their first season has accomplished a lot on and off the ice as a first year program but the one thing they are most proud of is the college exposure they offer their players.  With a league leading 13 NCAA commitments with more coming, the Jr Avalanche has developed a strong path to college hockey for their players.  Just recently the Jr Avalanche team visited Plymouth State University (ranked 15th in Div III Hockey) for a campus tour, pre-game meal than they were able to catch a Panthers home game at their on campus Hanaway Rink.  At the conclusion of the college game the Jr Avalanche laced up the skates to play in a huge northern conference game vs the Boston Jr Rangers.  A game the Avalanche won 2-1 as try to inch closer to the possibility of clinching their first conference championship. Getting the win was the icing on the cake as the Avalanche players enjoyed their day on a college campus and saw what it is like to be a college student athlete.  "Overall it was a great day at Plymouth State.  Coach Russell does a great job and I am very thankful he gave us this opportunity.  The Plymouth state staff did a great job hosting us our tour and pre-game meal was great and the win over the Jr Rangers just made it an even better day.  We try to do as much as we can to help our players get as much college exposure as we possibly can and this was a great opportunity.  Our guys enjoyed the visit and they are all very excited about their college hockey path," said Chris Cerrella.   The Avalanche EHL team looks to finish off the season on a high not with 7 games remaining.  The team has 2 more goals to accomplish: 1. Conference Champions 2.  EHL Champions, it wont be easy but the team has set their eyes on the prize
