HOOKSETT, NH -- The New Hampshire Avalanche are pleased to announce that Nick Tessier has committed to Franklin Pierce University (FPU) for the fall of 2023. The '02 native of Beaver Falls, PA chose the Avalanche for his final season of junior hockey and over the course of 40 games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) this past year, Tessier tallied 12 total points to this credit.
"I am so proud of Tess and what he accomplished here with us," said EHL head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He battled some adversity and just kept driving through. He is an outstanding young man and a hard-working athlete. I am very excited for him to take that next step. I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future."
The Ravens have always heavily recruited the EHL, and things were no different this past season, as Tessier is one of seven players heading off to FPU this fall. Overall, there have been 47 players in league history that have chosen Franklin Pierce, and that total includes at least one per season for all 10 seasons that the league has operated dating back to 2013.
"I am excited for the opportunity to pursue my academics and athletics at Franklin Pierce for the next chapter of my life," said Tessier. "I am thankful for my time with the Avalanche program and want to thank them for helping me get to this point in my life, both on and off the ice. My commitment to FPU will give me the opportunity to grow as a person, as well as an athlete, and I can not wait to be a Raven. Last, but not least, thank you to my parents for all the tremendous support they have given me over the years."
Narrowing down the commitment totals from this past season to just, and Tessier goes in the books as NCAA Commitment #13 of 15, with formal announcements coming soon for both Mattingly Wierl and Aren Francis.
