EHL Veteran Defenseman Set to Join Falcons this Fall

HOOKSETT, NH -- The New Hampshire Avalanche are pleased to announce that Andrew Woloszyn has committed to Fitchburg State University for the fall of 2023. The '02 native of Windham, NH is in his second season with the Avalanche, and over the course of 75 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), Woloszyn has tallied 28 points to his credit.

"Andrew has been an excellent member of our hockey community," said EHL head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He is one of those players that programs are fortunate to have. He is a leader on and off the ice and has a fantastic work ethic and drive. He is going to be a great addition to Fitchburg State both on the ice and in the classroom. The Falcons are lucky to have him. I wish Andrew and his family nothing but the best of luck in the future. He will be missed around our rink that’s for sure. I am very proud of what he has accomplished with the Avalanche program."

As Cerrella mentioned, the Avalanche program feels fortunate for the contributions that Woloszyn made to the organization. The veteran defenseman worked his way up through the program, as he played out both his 18U and 16U midget seasons at the Ice Den. Overall, Woloszyn is proud of every step he has taken along the way, as it ultimately led to this moment.

"I am very proud and honored to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Fitchburg State," said Woloszyn. "I would like to thank my family, coaches, trainers, teammates, and friends for helping reach my goals. I am thankful for the Avalanche organization and family for helping me so much along the way. I'm really pumped for the next four years with the Falcons."

Woloszyn and the Avalanche wrapped up the 2022-23 year as Regular Season Champions, and they will now take on the Vermont Lumberjacks in the First Round of the upcoming North Division Playoffs. Woloszyn and his teammates will be looking to become the first team to ever win both the Regular Season Championship and Playoff Championship in the same year in the EHL.
