Avalanche Teams Pick Up Where They Left Off in 2021

HOOKSETT, NH -- The New Hampshire Avalanche have returned to action in the new year, with teams up and down the organization up right where they left off in 2021.

EHL

Since the most recent edition of Avalanche Weekly, the top team in the program hit the ice for 10 total games, posting an overall record of 7-3-0 throughout that time. In the process of those 10 games, the Avalanche officially secured the #1 seed in the upcoming North Division playoffs, meaning that the Road to Providence will go through the Ice Den once again.

As for the top performer over the last 10 games, look no further than Ronan Mobley, the EHL's Goalie of the Month in January.

Mobley nearly put together a perfect month, only to have it spoiled on the final day. Regardless, the '01 native of Playa Del Rey, CA posted a record of 6-1-0 in the month of January, to go along with a 1.50 GAA and a .949 save percentage. Overall, his record for the season stands at 22-5-2, with a 1.48 GAA, a .938 save percentage, and six shutouts.

With the top seed in their division now locked up, Mobley and the Avalanche will turn their attention towards securing a Regular Season Championship, which would be the program's first in franchise history. Whether or not that comes to fruition is not the main goal however, as the Avalanche have their sights set on Providence, RI and earning some revenge at the 2022 EHL Frozen Finals.

EHLP

As for the Avalanche EHLP team, the defending Regular Season Champions at that level, hit the ice for 11 games of their own since the most recent edition of Avs Weekly. As for the team's record in those 11 games, the Avalanche were nearly perfect, with a mark of 9-1-1.

During that stretch, the Avalanche saw their 20-game point streak come to end, as they etched their name in the record books with the 3rd best streak in league history.

Looking forward, the Avalanche are in the driver's seat to secure another Regular Season Championship in the EHLP, and earn revenge of their own, as the program's 2nd team has never reached the Frozen Finals in their brief history (currently in 3rd season operating at the EHLP level).

2009 Premier

After coming back from an awesome tournament in Tampa, FL, the Avs 09 Premier went 0-1-1 this past weekend in the BHL.

The Avs started their weekend vs. the Jr. Rangers at the Ice Den. The 09 Premiers worked hard to try to keep their lead, but the Rangers kept answering back with goals. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

At Sunday's game vs. the Jr. Mounties at St. As, the Avs seemed to have lost their footing throughout the game and ended with a tough 11-2 loss.

This coming weekend, the team is preparing for a snow storm & two BHL games vs. the Valley Jr. Warriors & the 95 Giants.

2009 Elite

The 2009 NH Avalanche team recently participated in the CCM MLK Invite Tournament in Rhode Island, competing against the New Canaan Winter Club of CT, Anaheim Ice Dogs of CA, Lovell Knights of MA, and Long Island Royals of NY. With two ties and two wins, the Avs were #1 in their seed and headed to the semi against the New Jersey Devils of NJ and won 2-1. Ultimately the Avs lost in the final game to the Providence Hockey Club of RI, 2-5.

The 2009 Avs hit the ice at the annual Black Ice Hockey Tournament. The boys skated during the tournament’s Thursday Night Lights Shinny on the pond at White Park in Concord. Fun was had by all.

Mite Blue

The Mite Blue Avs kicked off the weekend playing against Keene, Rochester & Dover in GSL cross ice games on Saturday. All the players looked really good moving the puck and using their feet to skate to open ice.

On Sunday we hosted a tough NE Stars team in a full ice game. Their goalie was standing on his head throughout but finally getting through was Charlotte Parent midway through the second period. Blake Sufat sealed the win with an empty net goal. AVs come away with a win 2-0.
