Avalanche Teams Heading Towards Christmas

HOOKSETT, NH -- It's full steam ahead for the New Hampshire Avalanche organization, with busy schedules right up until the holiday break.

EHL

Since last week's edition of Avs Weekly, the top team in the program hit the ice for just a single game, this past Sunday against the New England Wolves. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the Avalanche held on down the stretch for a 3-2 victory.

Looking forward, the Avalanche have arguably the toughest remaining schedule in the EHL, to finish out the 2021 calendar year.

This afternoon, New Hampshire is set to face-off against the Walpole Express and then stay home for a matchup with the Railers Junior Hockey Club tomorrow afternoon. Following the two games against two of the toughest teams in the EHL, the Avalanche will head out to the Newington Showcase next week, with matchups set to go against the Philadelphia Little Flyers, Team Maryland, and Vermont Lumberjacks.

At the end of that stretch the team will then be off until January 11th, when they return to action against the Boston Jr Rangers.

EHLP

As for the EHLP Avs, this team has been off since November 28th, but they have three big games on the schedule leading up to the holiday break.

First up for the EHLP Avs, will be a rematch with the Walpole Express, which was the last team that they faced back at the end of November. That Sunday morning affair was a wild back-and-forth contest that ended in overtime in the Avs favor.

Fast-forward to Tuesday, and the Avalanche will hit the road for an in-state matchup with the New England Wolves, and then return home to take on the Valley Jr. Warriors on Wednesday.

U16

16U Full Season traveled down to New Jersey for their Eastern NAPHL Showcase Event. The team performed well coming home with a 2-2 record. Getting a big win against the Philly Little Flyers and playing the top ranked Mercer Chiefs & NJ Titans tough.  The team also took some time to take in a NAHL junior game as part of the weekend.

In game two of the weekend the boys hosted Assabett Valley Patriots at the Ice Den. The boys started slow but ended fast securing the 10-1 victory. James Brew was big in net. Goals by Jordan Delude (2), Aidan Gile, Ronan Connors(2), Dom White, Jackson Chadwick, Preston Libby, Collin Leach and Parker O’Toole.

2008 Elite

The 2008E is heating up over the last month, with 4 wins out 5 games.  This weekend the 08E Avs team went 2-0 this with a 6-2 win over the Boston Americans and 4-3 win over the EC Wizards.  Nice job Boys.  Keep grinding.

2009 Premier

The AVS 09 Premier had two big BHL games this weekend.

First, the boys took on the NE Knights at home. The Avs dominated this game with a 5-0 win and a shutout for goalie Colin Leger, his second of the season.

Second game of the weekend was against the Springfield Rifles at home. At the end of the first, the Avs found themselves up 4-1, but unfortunately, after many bad breaks with penalties, they ended with a close 5-4 loss.

Onto next weekend, where 09 Avs will face the Seahawks at the Ice Den.

2010 Elite

After a tough loss on Saturday to the defending E9 champions, the Americans 2010 elite team, the Avs 2010 elite team ended the weekend in a come from behind win against the Seahawks 2010 elite team.  The Avs worked hard as a team on Sunday and won 5-3, going 1-1 on the weekend.

2011 Elite

This past weekend the 2011 Elite team traveled to play the Advantage on Saturday in a regular season matchup.  The Advantage took and early lead, and the 2011 team battled back but came up a little short losing 6-4.  On Sunday, the 2011 Elite team traveled to play a tough Icemen team.  The Avalanche came out on top dominating the play in what was their most complete game coming away with the 6-4 win.

This upcoming weekend the Avalanche will host the Icemen at home on Saturday and travel to VT to play back to back games against the Dynamo.

2012 Elite

The 2012 Elite team faced off against the 2012 Advantage team this weekend at home.  The team got off to a slow start being down 2-0 but fought back by the end of the first period to lead by a goal.  After they woke up and started playing AVs hockey they took the lead and never looked back.  Final score was 9-4.  Each of the 6 forwards had a goal and Matthew Brenner netted a hat trick.  These guys play as a team and move the puck. Right now the team has a solid hold on 2nd place as they look to play the 1st place 95 Giants and the last place Jr. Railers this coming weekend.  Lets go AVs!

Mite Blue

The Mite Blue Avs kicked off their weekend with a home game win 8-1 against Rochester.

On Sunday, we traveled to Hudson to face the New England Jets. Even though the opposing goalie made some great saves, we were able to sneak a handful past him and come away with a 6-0 win.

Khloie Montgomery getting her first well deserved shutout of the season.
