Avalanche Set to Host 2021 EHL All-Star Classic at the Ice Den

HOOKSETT, NH -- One busy week leads to another, as the New Hampshire Avalanche are set host a special All-Star event for the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). This upcoming Sunday the 21st and Monday the 22nd, the Avalanche will play host to the 2021 EHL All-Star Classic, featuring 60 skaters and eight goaltenders from around the league. All 17 EHL teams will be represented by four respective All-Stars at this year's event.

EHL

Earlier this season, Thomas Dempsey and Michael Tersoni were selected to the EHL All-Star Team that faced off against Curry College and UMass Boston in a pair of exhibition games. As for this weekend's event, the Avalanche will showcase four new All-Stars, starting with a pair of 2nd year forwards in Matt Carlson and Aden Hotchkiss. Both players have tallied over 20 points to their respective credit so far this season.

Moving back to the blue line, and sticking with the 2nd year theme, Josh Higgins is off to a solid start to his age-out campaign, all while serving as the team's captain this year. Higgins is just two points away from tying his total from the entire 2020-21 season.

Wrapping things up, and once again sticking with the 2nd year theme, Ronan Mobley is back for his first full campaign with the Avalanche and he has taken the starting goaltending job in stride so far this year. With 9 wins already to his credit, it's no surprise that Mobley was the first goaltender selected in the draft that was held for this weekend's event.

As for the rest of the team, the Avalanche will wrap-up play before a short break for Thanksgiving with games against the Seacoast Spartans on Thursday and the Walpole Express on Friday.

EHLP

You can use the word 'quietly' when referring to the fact that the Avalanche EHLP team has not dropped a game in regulation since the Worcester Showcase back in late September/early October.

Since that loss, the defending regular season champions have amassed a record 8-0-4, and have climbed back inside the EHLP Power Rankings.

The team is off right now, through the Thanksgiving holiday, and set to return on Sunday, November 28th with a matchup at home against the Walpole Express. That will be the first of five games for the Avalanche leading into the new year, a new year that will offer the team a chance at revenge in the upcoming EHLP Playoffs.

U14

U14's wrapped up the Fall E9 season over the weekend dropping two tough and highly competitive games. Saturday they traveled down to Raynham for a game vs. the New England Knights. This one came down to the wire and the boys had plenty of chances to pull points out, but in the end fell just short.

Sunday they played a late night game vs. AVP in Concord, MA. After some back and forth hockey and a questionable missed goal call that would've tied things up, the boys dropped a heartbreaker 3-1.

2009 Premier

The Avs '09 Premier Team had two big BHL games this past weekend.

First, the boys took on the NE Knights in Raynham. The Avs are battling hard this season and this game was no different. The Avs were first to score, but at the end of the second period, found themselves down by 1. The Jr. Mounties fought to score once in the third. The Avs answered back by scoring 3 goals in the 3rd, giving them a final score of 6 to 5. A HUGE win for the Avs.

Second game of the weekend was against the Seacoast Spartans at St As. Spartans scored 1 in the 1st and the Avs answered with a goal in the second period. It was a close, back and forth game, but in the end, after another Spartans goal & an empty netter, the Avs took a 3-1 loss.

Onto this weekend, where '09 Avs will face the Walpole Express at home and the Jr. Rangers in Tewksbury.

2010 Elite

Saturday we played the Seahawks down in Hyannis.  Our team struggled to connect and come alive.  The game ended in a tough tie, 2-2.

We travelled to Springfield on Sunday to vs the Rifles.  After a slow start, that found us down 3-0 early, and 4-1 at the end of the 1st period, we battled back to close it to 4-3 late into the 3rd period when the Rifles scored their 5th and added an empty netter in the last minute to win 6-3.

2011 Elite

The 2011 Elite team hosted the Advantage and the Patriots this past weekend for two regular season matchups.  In the first game the Avalanche battled hard but fell short in their efforts coming away with a loss to the Advantage Selects. Griffin Erickson earned the hardest worker chain and Miles Moschetti earned the game puck.

Sunday's game had a lot of lead changes and the Avalanche never gave up putting a ton of shots on the Patriots goalie who played a great game, but ultimately came away with a loss to the Patriots. Griffin Erickson earned the hardest worker chain for the second game in a row, and Logan LaCoss earned the game puck.

The 2011 Elite team will take on the Seahawks Elite this Saturday at the Ice Den. So far this season, we currently are 1-1 against them.

2012 Elite

The 2012 Avalanche team is on a roll.  They are tied for first place and have won 6 straight games with 35 goals and only 9 against. The kids have been working hard on team play supported by puck movement. It also doesn’t hurt that Ethan Barry has scored 3 hat tricks in the last 4 games to take home the Grinder belt.  But nothing said team more than when Drake Haskell tickled the twine for his first Geno of the year followed up by a whole team celly. Let’s go Avs!

Mite Development

Congratulations to Rose Kuhn for shutting the door in Dover this weekend and earning player of the game - first player to wear the Avalanche Fire Helmet!

Mite Blue

The Mite Blue Avalanche kicked off their weekend with a scrimmage against The New England Edge. It was a back and forth battle with the Avs hanging on to a 7-6 win. Nathan Pinkos earning the player of the game honors for his work ethic & his fantastic end to end goal.

On Sunday, the Avs traveled to Vermont for two hours of cross ice games. While no scores are kept the Avs had plenty of good things happening. Blake Sufat was an absolute nightmare for the opposing teams. His ruthless back check and slick moves were too much to handle which earned him the player of the game chain.

Khloie Montgomery was in net for this weekends games and made some great saves to help us secure the wins.
