Avalanche Teams Turning the Corner Towards November

HOOKSETT, NH -- Things are heating up for numerous teams under the New Hampshire Avalanche umbrella, as we count down the final days of October, and officially turn the page to November.

EHL

With two games remaining in the month of October, the top team in the program is currently sitting at the top of their division standings with a record of 8-2-2. After losing in overtime in the 2021 EHL Championship Game this past March, the Avalanche appear to have reloaded in a big way, for their 5th season of operating a junior hockey franchise.

Aden Hotchkiss and Michael Tersoni are leading the way offensively for the team, as both '01 forwards have tallied 17 total points to date. Not far behind them however is Graham Hassan, the reigning Most Valuable Player in the EHLP, who has made the transition up to the EHL look easy so far, with 13 points of his own to date.

As for the back end, Ronan Mobley served as a reliable backup for the Avalanche last season, and he's thrusted his way up to the top role this year. In eight starts to date, Mobley owns a record of 5-2-1 to go along with a 1.68 GAA, a .940 save percentage, and two shutouts.

As we mentioned above, the Avalanche have two games remaining on their October schedule, and then seven games in November leading up to Thanksgiving.

EHLP

As for the EHLP Avs, the 2020-21 season also ended in disappointment, as the team won the Regular Season Championship and then fell one game short of reaching the Frozen Finals.

Early indications show the Avalanche looking like contenders once again this year, with a record of 4-2-2 in eight games to date.

Offensively, it's a mix of returners in newcomers leading the way, as eight players have tallied five points of more so far this season. As for the play in goal, it has also been a group effort, as all four netminders on the roster have earned a victory to their credit.

With only eight games played so far, that number will quickly jump all the way up to 20 by the time the team hits the holiday break in December.

2009 Premier

The Avs '09 Premier fought their way through their game on Saturday vs. the Jr. Mounties in Smithfield, RI.

After being down only by 1 at the end of the second period, the Avs scored 3 more goals in the third.

Unfortunately, it was not enough as they lost 9-6. The team then took advantage of a free Sunday with some team bonding at paintball.

2012 Elite

The 2012 Elite team traveled to play the Advantage on Saturday.

With our lead goalie and alternate unavailable, Henry Draper stepped up to the challenge and only allowed 2 goals.

The Avalanche captured their first win by the score of 4-2.

2011 Elite

The 2011 Elite hosted the E9 Warriors this past weekend at the Ice Den on Sunday.

After the Avalanche gained an early lead the Warriors battled back and kept it close. Ultimately the Avalanche were able to come away with the 9-8 win in a hard fought high scoring game.  The Avalanche had scoring from 7 different players in the winning effort.

The 2011 Elite team host their first regular season home game next weekend on Halloween against the Icemen.

Mite Blue

The Avalanche Mite Blue traveled to Hanover on Saturday and hosted teams on Sunday morning as part of their GSL Parity Round.

No official scores were kept (USA Hockey Rules), but the players found the back of the net plenty and were all smiles leaving the rinks both days.

Mite Development

The Avalanche Mite Development started their season this weekend with parity games in Dover. For many of the players it was their first game ever.

All the players walked away happy and should be so proud of how they played.

Thank you to the coaches for getting them ready and the parents for getting them the rink!
