EHL Forward Set to Join Dutchmen this Fall

HOOKSETT, NH -- The New Hampshire Avalanche are pleased to announce that Rais Francis has committed to Lebanon Valley College for the fall of 2021. The 2000-born native of England joined the Avalanche in mid-December, and posted a total nine points in 14 games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Rais spent time in the NAHL and NCDC before coming to us this season," said EHL head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He is a big, strong power forward that has a pro shot. We missed him in the playoffs this year as he was recovering from an injury. I am very excited for Rais and think he’s going to be a great addition for Coach Parsons at LVC. I wish him and his family all the best."

With his commitment, Francis becomes the 3rd player in Avalanche history to choose the Dutchmen hockey program. He's also the 3rd EHL player to commit to Lebanon Valley so far this year, joining a pair of players whose teams also advanced to the 2021 EHL Frozen Finals. When Francis arrives on the campus at LVC, he will be joined by Dylan Gutierrez of the New Jersey 87's and Jackson Legro of the Boston Jr. Rangers.

"I’m proud to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic careers at Lebanon Valley College," said Francis. "I would like to thank my family, teammates, and coaches for helping me along this journey. The Avalanche is a first-class organization through and through, and it has been a privilege to finish my junior career with them. Coach Cerrella, Coach Martiniello, and Coach Caligiuri  have pushed me each and every day and have provided me with every opportunity to develop both on and off the ice and ultimately advance to the collegiate level. I’m looking forward to the next four years at LVC. Go Dutchmen!"
