EHL Forward Set to Join Colonels in the Fall of 2022

HOOKSETT, NH -- The New Hampshire Avalanche are pleased to announce that Chris Paige has committed to Wilkes University for the fall of 2022. The '01 native of Massena, NY came to the Avalanche following an 18U season with the CP Dynamo, a AAA midget program that has become a strong producer of future Avalanche players. Paige played in 19 Eastern Hockey League (EHL) games for the Avalanche during the regular season, tallying nine points along the way.

"Chris is a very skilled, hard-working forward, said EHL head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "He has a good hockey IQ and has really become a student of the game over the time we have had him. He is one of those players that takes his self management seriously; he’s the first guy on the ice and the last one off every day! I look forward to working with him the rest of this season and next season as he prepares for college hockey. We are very proud of Paiger and think he is going to be a great addition to the Wilkes University community, both on and off the ice."

With this commitment, Paige actually becomes one of two Avalanche players that have committed to join the Colonels in the fall of 2022. Paige and Matt Carlson each have a huge weight lifted off of their shoulders, and also each know where their home will be next year as well. While both players will be leaned on heavily in the playoffs this year, the expectations will be even higher for each player next season, when they each return to New Hampshire for their age-out campaign.

"I’m very proud to announce my commitment to Wilkes University for the 2022 season," said Paige. "I would like to thank my family and friends for their endless support. I would also like to thank my past and present teammates and coaches for pushing me to be a better person and player. Thank you to the New Hampshire Avalanche for giving me a great opportunity to develop and prepare myself for college hockey in the future. I am very excited for what’s to come!"

Paige and the Avalanche are finished with their 2020-21 regular season schedule and are now preparing for their first playoff matchup with the Seacoast Spartans. If New Hampshire advances past that matchup, they will face-off with the winner of the New England Wolves-Lumberjacks Hockey Club series with a trip to the EHL Frozen Finals on the line.
