Full Season Midget NAPHL showcase recap

Our U16 NH Avalanche team traveled to Middletown, New Jersey this past weekend for the NAPHL East Showcase. This was the team’s fourth and last showcase this season. Friday was a tough day as the team took on the NJ Titans premiere team, ranked 31st in the country. Louis DeManche found the back of the net in the last minute of the game, to get the Av’s on the board, and was he lone scorer for the team. The boys lost 7-1. On Saturday the team came back wanting to prove themselves against the 67th ranked Pittsburgh Predators. We had 4 different players scoring:, Fontaine, Bouchard, DesRuisseaux and Brenner; with 5 different players helping with assists, DesRuisseaux, Calandra, Hale, McCuaig, and Plaza.  Brenner had the GWG for the team in the morning. In the afternoon the U16’s took on the 95 Giants, and coasted to a 7-2 win. We had 6 players scoring: Dann, Gallant, Fontaine, Hale x2, DesRuisseaux, and McCuaig; with 7 different players assisting, Bouchard, Plaza, Lyons, Calandra, Fontaine, DeManche and Rossignol. Fontaine had the GWG. In the last game on Sunday, the boys took on the Northeast Generals. Again the team came on strong scoring three goals in the first period, and never looked back. DesRuisseaux, Hale x2, Brenner, Fontaine and Dann all scored; with Hale, DesRuisseaux, Brenner, and Gallant assisting. Fontaine had the GWG, with Hale leading the way with 5 points in the game. The U16’s finished 3 -1 for the weekend, bringing them to a 24-17-1 record going into the final stretch of the season.  The team followed up the weekend with 2 wins against local rivals the Northern Cyclones and the New England Wolves. They will be riding a 5 game winning streak into their ECEL playoffs.

The U18 full season headed into the NAPHL weekend with a very tough schedule against highly ranked Philly Little Flyers, 95 Giants, New Jersey Titans and Seacoast Spartans. The team stepped up an put together an amazing weekend, winning 3 and losing 1 in overtime.  Powered by a hot power play and strong goal tending from Jordan Richard as well as big offensive outputs from Kyle Dann, Landon Mcclure, Ryan Kamentz and Kam Levesque. Next up the team takes on the top teams in the ECEL playoffs.
