EHL Forward Set to Join Falcons this Fall

HOOKSETT, NH -- The New Hampshire Avalanche are pleased to announce that Brendan Sjostedt has committed to Albertus Magnus College for the fall of 2020. The '99 native of Tewksbury, MA came to the Avalanche after three season of prep hockey, and to date, he's tallied 20 total points in 28 career games in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL).

"Brendan is very capable of being a fantastic college hockey player," said EHL head coach and general manager Chris Cerrella. "I am excited to see what the future holds for him at Albertus Magnus. He will be joining a teammate [Jake Pasquini] and an Avalanche alum [Cam Weitzman] next season. Brendan is going to be a great addition to the Falcons locker room and campus. I wish him nothing but the best."

As Cerrella mentioned, Sjostedt will be able to get comfortable right away at Albertus Magnus, having already played with one of his teammates. Overall Sjostedt is beyond excited to join a new program that has already got a lot of attention from the NCAA Division III community.

"I would like to thank my coaches, family, and teammates for supporting me and getting me to where I am today," said Sjostedt. "I would like to give a special thanks to my family for making all of this possible with the endless support throughout my years playing hockey. Also, I would like to give a huge thanks to Coach Cerrella, for helping me to develop not only as a player, but as a person off the ice, and better prepare myself for college. I am very excited to be a Falcon for the next four years.”

Sjostedt and the Avalanche are right in the middle of a tight battle at the top of the New England Conference standings. With just 14 games remaining in the regular season, every point is critical as the Avalanche make their run at a third straight championship.
