The junior teams have been busy, having already played three games so far this week, going a combined 2-0-1 in those matchups. Looking ahead, the Avalanche junior teams will head south to Philly for a pair of games each tomorrow and Monday.

One of the many highlights so far this season, came when Victor Nikiforov and Cable Rizan were named Stars of the Month in their respective divisions.

The Full Season teams were back at it this past weekend, with the U16 team having 3 games while the U18 team played just once.

The U16 team headed down to the NAPHL showcase to take on top competition from across the country.  They dropped their first game 3-2 to a tough Meijer Hockey team, but won their second game 5-4 against Carshield Hockey.

They also picked up a 7-1 win vs the New England Wolves Full Season team, while the U18 team picked up a tie against a tough Northern Cyclones split season prep squad 2-2. 

The U16 Gold team spent the weekend on the road, coming out with a 2-1 record.  Friday night saw the U16 Gold team smother NH East in a GSL contest in Exeter, NH. 2 Goals from Luke Suhesky led the offense and the defensive unit shut the door in a decisive 5-0 win.

Saturday, the team traveled to Hingham, MA to take on the Boston Advantage in a BHL game.  A back and forth contest against good competition led to a 3-1 loss for the Avs, with the lone goal coming from Colby Wright.

Sunday, the U16s were back in BHL action traveling to Saugus, MA to take on the Boston Americans. In a hard fought game, with a short bench, the Avs dug deep and pulled out a gritty 4-3 victory. Jake Masterson and Brett Niland had two goals each. Strong goaltending all weekend long from Colby Boyce earned him the first star of the weekend.

The Avalanche U15 team had a convincing win over the EC Wizards on Saturday with the final score of 5-2. The team pulled together with great puck movement at both ends of the ice. Passing plays entering into the offensive zone were stellar and were key in this dominating win. The goals were scored by #97 Ty Robinson, #3 Sean McCarthy, #28 Matt Lazzaro, #91 Jackson Doughty, and #23 Brayden Ring.

The U15 Elite team is off to a great start in the Boston Hockey League with a record of 3-0-1.

The NH Avalanche U14s had a great weekend of hockey going 3-0 with wins over the New England Knights, New England Wolves, and Durocher Saint Lambert (Quebec).

On Saturday, the Avs traveled to Raynham, MA and skated away with a 3-1 win over the New England Knights U14. Brendan Heppler was tested early in net, but made a number of great saves to keep the game scoreless through the 1st period. The Avs got their offense going and scored 2 goals in the 2nd period. Jack Shoemaker scored on a slap shot from the right point that the goalie never saw, with assists going to Domminic Tagliaferro and Brady Chapman. Dominik Jurcins then scored three minutes later, on a wicked wrister from the left point, with assists going to Will Danais and Dylan Garvin.  Brady Chapman closed out the scoring early in the 3rd period on a pretty 2-on-1, with assists to Owen Miner & Tate Flint.

On Sunday, the Avs headed north to Proctor Academy to play 2 non-league games against the New England Wolves and Durocher Saint Lambert out of Quebec. The Avs opened up against the Wolves and skated away with a convincing win. Every player on the roster registered at least 1 point and Mason Langevin had the shutout in net.  AJ True led the scoring with 4 goals.

The Avs were then given a tour of the Proctor Campus by head hockey coach Mike Walsh.  After the tour the Avs skated against Durocher Saint Lambert in a fast-paced, back & forth game that saw the Avs come away with a 4-3 victory. The scoring was led by AJ True with the hat trick (seven total goals on the day), Aidan Palmeter with three assists, and Dominik Jurcins with a goal and an assist.  Brendan Heppler was solid in net making a number of big saves down the stretch to preserve the 4-3 win for the Avs.

The 2009 Elite team is sporting pink this month to show their support for breast cancer awareness. The team is proudly showing off their pink laces and tape, and they opened up this past weekend with a strong 5-1 win over the Lakes Region to remain undefeated in GSL.

A couple of close losses in the BHL closed the weekend, but the team continues to battle and improve with each game played.
