Billet Program

Each season players from across the country move to Hooksett, NH to be a part of the New Hampshire Avalanche hockey organization. Many of these players choose to live with a local billet family. Billet families provide a sense of comfortability for these athletes and play a large role in the success of the organization. By opening their homes they become an extended family for these young developing athletes that may be living away for the first time.

Along with the benefits to the billeted player, it is also a great experience for the host. It’s a great way to become a part of the local community, influence young athletes in a positive manner and extremely beneficial to families that have young hockey players of their own while allowing for connections to other families in the hockey community throughout the Greater New Hampshire Area.

Players that are billeting with a family will arrive in the Hooksett, NH area mid August, and will stay through the season, typically ending in early April. Players attending public school instead of our online Avs Academy will typically stay throughout the school year to continue their academics and training for the following season.

Billet families will receive financial compensation for each player hosted in order to cover the added expenses. Avalanche families that decide to billet players will receive both a discounted tuition and compensation, but the ultimate perk of hosting a billet are the relationships forged that will last a lifetime.
