EHL FORWARD KROON TO ATTEND UMASS DARTMOUTH

The EHL NH Avalanche has continued to build their impressive list of college commitments with their 13th announcement of the season.  Forward Melker Kroon has chose to continue his hockey and academic career at Umass Dartmouth.  Umass Dartmouth plays in the MASCAC Div III Hockey Conference and are currently tied for second place in their conference.  The Corsairs play their home games at the Hetland Arena and coached By Head Coach Erick Noack (15th season in College Hockey) who is in his second season with the Corsairs and holds a 17-9 record so far behind the bench. Kroon came to the Avs this season after spending last season with the Texas Brahmas in the NA3HL, the Limhamn Sweden native has 21 points so far this season for the Avs.  "Melker is a good hockey player and an even better young man.  He has speed, a great shot and works hard every shift for us.  He is going to be a good addition for Coach Noack next season and I look forward to keeping track of him next season.  I am very proud of Melker and I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future," said Chris Cerrella  The 6'1 185lbs winger came to the USA from Sweden with the goal of playing college hockey and he was able to achieve that goal playing for the NH Avalanche in the EHL.  Kroon is very excited about the upcoming EHL playoff race and his future at Umass Dartmouth.  "I would like to thank the Avalanche organization for an amazing season so far.  I would like to thank Coach Cerrella for recruiting me to this team and for helping me become a better player and person on and off the ice.  He has helped me reach my goal and gotten me ready for the next level as a student athlete.  Also a big thank you to our owner and Assistant Coach Mario Martiniello for making this possible as well.  I would like to send a special thank you to my family back home in Sweden. They have supported me and helped me make this possible and for that I am forever grateful.  I am really excited for the playoff race with my team mates and even more excited about heading to UMass Dartmouth and entering the next stage in my life.  GO CORSAIRS," said Kroon.  With 10 regular season games remaining in his final year of junior hockey Melker Kroon is looking to help the NH Avalanche bring home the hardware to the Ice Den Arena #ROLLAVSROLL
