OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN EHL BRITNER CHOOSES UMASS DARTMOUTH

The EHL NH Avalanche is proud to announce that Captain Derek Britner has chose to continue his hockey and academic career at Umass Dartmouth.  Umass Dartmouth plays in the MASCAC Div III Hockey Conference and currently sits in third place.  The Corsairs play their home games at the Hetland Arena and coached By Head Coach Erick Noack who is in his second season with the Corsairs and holds a 17-9 record so far behind the bench. 

After missing some time early in the season due to injury Britner has amassed 30pts in 31 games so and has been a big part of the Avs explosive offense.  The Salem, NH native is looking to continue his hot hand sown the stretch and into the playoffs and helping the Avs climb to the top of the EHL.  "Britt has been great for us this season.  He has really matured on and off the ice and he is ready to take on college both on the ice and in the classroom.  He is a big strong kid and he is going to be a very effective power forward at the next level and I am very excited for him.  Coach Noack did a great job recruiting him and I feel Derek is going to be an impact in the MASCAC right away.  I wish the Britner family nothing but the best," said Chris Cerrella.  The 6'0 190lbs winger is looking forward to finishing off his junior career with the NH Avalanche and using this off season to prepare for the next level.  "I would like to thank the Avalanche organization for a great season so far.  I am very thankful for Coach Mario Matiniello for everything that he has done for me over the years to make me the player and helping me be the person I am today.  I would also like to thank Coach Cerrella he has helped me reach my goal of playing college hockey and helped me understand what its like to be an inspiring student athlete.  I want to thank my parents and family for their continued support and helping me achieve my goals.  I am very excited to be heading to Umass Dartmouth to enter the next chapter both on and off the ice.  After two seasons in the EHL I was able to become a better player and get to the next level, the EHL is a great path to college hockey, GO CORSAIRS" said Britner.  With just 11 games remaining on in his EHL career the FEARLESS LEADER is going to do everything it takes to help raise the EHL championship banner at the Ice Den Arena.
