In just their first season of Junior Hockey the NH Avalanche are off to a great start.  With 11 college commitments on the season and more to come the Avs have clinched their first franchise division title this past weekend improving to 31-6-1 on the season.  It has been a huge success for the Avlanche program and Owner Mario Martiniello could not be more proud of the junior team, its direction and the direction of the entire NH Avalanche hockey program as a whole.  "It has been exciting to see how much success we are having on and off the ice this season.  It is really putting us on the map, the Avs program has now become a one stop shop from Learn to Skate to Junior hockey to college hockey.  You can not ask for more in my opinion, we have worked really hard to make this the best place to play in New England and I am excited to see where we are in five more years.  Our junior team having this much success is only making the Ice Den Arena a very exciting facility," said Martiniello.  The Jr Avs have accomplished a lot on and off the ice so far this season they have participated in local charities and have a league leading 11 NCAA College Hockey commitments to date and more to come.  They have one player in the top 9 in scoring in the EHL with Assistant Captain Jarrett Slear, goalie Mike Paglucca has a league leading 19 wins, goalie Nick Sorgio has a league leading 1.35gaa and D-man James Zanca sits second overall in D scoring with 29pts in 35 games played.  The team now sits with a first round bye in the EHL playoffs with twelve games remaining and six of those games at the Ice Den.  That is a lot to be proud so far for a team that had no returning players and no true identity, UNTIL NOW.  "We hit the ground running and in four months we had a first year team, a brand new state of the art locker room and much more.  It has been an exciting ride so far but we have two team goals left.  Clinch home ice through the playoffs and then win the whole thing, we have the team to get it done but in this league every game is a battle.  I am very proud of where we are but we are far from where we want to be," said Chris Cerrella.  The Avs hit the ice again Jan 24th at 12:00 vs the EC Wizards at the Ice Den Arena as the Avs will continue to fight to reach their TEAM GOAL the EHL Crown.
