The NH Jr Avalanche is proud to announce that veteran forward Jarrett Slear has chosen to continue his hockey and academic career at Plymouth State in the MASCAC Div III conference.  Plymouth State is located in Plymouth, NH and the Panthers play their games at the on campus Hanaway Rink which is one of the toughest buildings to play games in all of New England.  The team is coached by Head Coach Craig Russell who is in his 8th season and has an impressive 129-53-18 record and has been to the NCAA tournament two times in his tenure.  Slear is the Jr Avalanches assitant captain and is in his second season in the EHL.  He currently leads the Avs with 37 pts in 29 games and he sits in the top 10 in the EHL statistically and has been a big part of the Jr Avs first year success.  "Jarrett has done a great job he has been with me for two season now and I have watched him develop into a very good player.  His hockey awareness is very good and it will translate even better at the college hockey level.  I am very proud of Slearsy and his success both with the Jr. Avs and for his newest opportunity he has received at Plymouth State.  He had a lot of options but he chose to be a Panther and I look forward to being able to follow his college hockey career right here in NH," said Chris Cerrella.  With three games left before holiday break looks like Santa Claus came a little early for the West Chester, Pa native as he looks forward to his commitment to the college hockey level.  " After talking to my family and my coaches with the Avs I am very proud to have chosen Plymouth State to continue my athletic and academic career.  Choosing to come to a first year team and staying with Coach Cerrella was the best choice I made for my college hockey future.  Coming to the Avalanche and helping get junior program started has been a real privilege, we have all the resources here to prepare for college hockey.  A state of the art locker room, a great work out facility, a top coaching staff and unlimited ice time.  Having that at my finger tips has been great for my development.  Thank you to Head Coach Chris Cerrella, Coach Martiniello and Coach Soryal for helping get me to the next level both on and off the ice.  Thank you to my teammates, this is one of the best teams I have been a part of not only on the ice but in the locker room.  A special thanks to my family without you I would have never achieved my dream of playing college hockey.  I am very excited to be a part of the Plymouth State community," said Slear.  With twenty one games remaining Coach Cerrella and the Avs will be counting on Slear to continue their path to the EHL Final Four.  #rollavsroll
