EHL Avalanche:

The EHL team continued their winning ways going 1-0 on the weekend with a Friday match up vs the Walpole Express.  The Avs struck early and often with solid offensive play scoring four goals in the game to help seal the 4-2 win.  Forwards Derek Britner, Tyler Uravage, Zach Ahola and Melker Kroon all lit the lamp for the Avs.  Goalie Mike Paglucca and the Avs D Core kept things tight as the Express had very little offensive chances accept on the man advantage.  The Avs PK unit shit down the Express PP which is one of the top in the league.  The Avalanche continue their hot play heading into the first half break at 23-5-1 with five college hockey commitments.  “We continue to play good team hockey and find ways to win, that’s what championship caliber teams do, they find ways to win as a team.  We have battled a lot of adversity this first half, have had some top end guys hurt for long periods and we keep on rolling.  I am very proud of this group and their effort in the first half,” said Chris Cerrella.

18u Avalanche:

The 18U Avalanche boarded the bus to head to CT for the ECEL College Showcase.  Taking on the top four teams in the ECEL it wasn’t an easy task.  The 18U team finished the weekend dropping all four games against Elite Hockey, Boston Advantage, 95 Giants and Team Maryland.  Forwards Matt Gagnon, Cody Lappas, Aaron Harmon played well on the weekend and continue to gain more practice time with the EHL team. Dmen Finn Bambery, Colby Garcia and Michael Zogin all played well this weekend for the Avs.   Goalies Matt Bouldin and Anthony LoRusso played well despite the 0-4 record on the weekend.  “Although the record did not dictate how hard and well these guys played this past weekend.  We continue to battle with a short bench and we could not be prouder of this group they continue to get better each week and that is a huge plus for our organization, we are developing these young men for the next level”, said Brian Saucier.

16U Avalanche:

Like the 18U the Avs 16U boarded the bus and headed south to the ECEL College Showcase.  The team faced some stiff competition taking on the Boston Advantage 16 and 15U teams as well as Elite Hockey 16U and a very strong NewBridge Academy.  The Avs went an impressive 3-1 on the weekend dropping just one game to NewBridge Acacemy while beating Elite Academy and both Boston Advantage teams.  Mason Drouin (4pts), Baxter Kimball (2pts), Conner Murray (4pts) and Alex Gagne (3pts) all had solid weekends on the score sheet.  Goalie Jordan Richard went 1-1 on the weekend and Goalie Matt Grover went 2-0 including a 2-0 shutout.  The 16U Avs had a strong weekend of play as they continue to improve each week.  “This team continues to grow as individuals and more importantly as a team.  We have some very good players at this level and we are very excited for the future.  This weekend they showed up and played very well against some very good teams, it was a great weekend,” said Justin Soryal.

14U Avalanche:

The Jr Avs 14U team continues its winning ways with a 6-0 win over the Jr Whalers and a 4-1 win over Sea Coast Spartans.  Forward Cooper Flinton has continued to be a bright spot on the powered Avs offense while dmen Nolan Sauer and Alex Forward have been steady on the back end.  Goalie Jesse Pelletier has been solid between the pipes and has given up zero goals in the last 2 games.  “These guys continue to be coachable and continue to play well.  This is a great group of young talent in our organization a group that we look forward to developing even more.  I am thrilled by the teams play from top to bottom, there is more than one or two players earning the spotlight for our 14U team its been a great season so far,” said Mario Martiniello.

Next Up:  The EHL team has two more games before break at the EHL College Showcase in Walpole, Ma.  They will than go on a well deserved 15 day break before coming back in 2018.  The 18U Avs will play two more games before break taking on Boch Militia and the IHC Islanders.  The 16U team will head to break with no games scheduled till Jan 7th when they take on the Sea Coast Spartans.  The 14U will face the Boston Jr Rangers and Neponsent Valley River Rats this weekend.
