Tynsboro, Mass - 9/4/17
The 16U New Hampshire Avalanche Full Season team is in full swing following the highly scouted 5 game East Coast Classics Labor Day showcase. The talented group of 16s players started the week off slow but finished strong with a couple big wins. First up was a loss to the Southern Connecticut Stars 6-3. A tight checking close game throughout was lost by costly penalties late in the game.
Saturday saw the team play against 2 competitive teams in the RI Hitmen and the Nashville Jr Predators. Both games were back and forth and could have gone either with the 16U Avalanche falling short 5-4 and 3-2. Despite the losses, you could see the group beginning to develop some chemistry and hunger to win.
The team rallied around their strong locker room leadership Sunday and looked like a new team. They beat the top seeded Springfield Pics 3-2 and followed that up with a lopsided 6-2 win over West Haven.
"The big difference we saw throughout the weekend was the players increasing their compete level and desire to win 1 on 1 battles. This team has the raw talent to continue the winning tradition of the Avalanche program and once they start playing the game the right way they will be a difficult team to beat" Said Midget Director Justin Soryal.
Next up for the 16U Avalanche is the E9 Parity weekend in Marlboro.
