The NH Avalanche and Ice Den Arena owner Mario Martiniello are looking to make a big statement very fast in Hooksett, NH.  In the past few months, they have acquired a USA Hockey approved Junior A Tier III franchise in the Eastern Hockey Leagues Premier division; they've hired a veteran head coach; and now have the drawings complete for the building of their new-state-of-the-art locker rooms which will be ready for the 2017-18 season.  The NH Jr Avalanche is a new team in the Eastern Hockey League. A league which has become the fastest path to NCAA Div III College Hockey over the last 5 years and is only building steam with the addition of 5 new teams.  The league’s expansion opened up the eyes of owner Martiniello who has a vision of being the top college placement organization in the Northern Massachusetts/New Hampshire Area.  With a gorgeous one-sheet on-ice facility and a state of the art off-ice facility (Roots Athletics) already intact, the next project was the building of a new home for the Jr Avs players.  "When I was approached about having a junior team in the EHL, I decided if I was going to do it I would only do it one way, the right way.  Having a junior team is a long-term investment and there are a lot of details and things that are needed to have a successful franchise — we are going to make sure we do everything first class.  The locker rooms were the last piece to the puzzle and construction will start soon so that they will be ready for the 2017-18 season. This is going to be a great place to play junior hockey," said Owner Mario Martiniello. With the last pieces of the puzzle already in place, Head Coach Chris Cerrella only has one thing left to do and that is build his 2017-18 roster.  "When you have the resources that the Jr Avalanche have to provide for their players, everything else falls into place.  We are looking forward to our tryouts April 28-30th and to the start of our first season.  We are a new team but we are not a new staff. The coaching staff and the administration all have the same philosophy and that is develop and place.  With all the amenities in place for our players to develop every day on and off the ice, we are getting calls from players all over the country and from many different leagues to come and play for us.  When you provide a good quality product and you care about the players, you attracts families and that is exactly what we are trying to accomplish.  We want to help families develop a college academic and hockey plan," said Head Coach Chris Cerrella.  The Jr Avalanche will be hosting their EHL Premier tryouts just weeks away — April 28-30th at the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, NH.
