1. What leagues do the NH Avalanche Play in?

The Avs Elite teams play in the Elite 9 Hockey League www.elite9hockey.com (Mite to Midget). This is one of the top Tier 1 Leagues in the country! The Avalanche are one of the 6 founding members of the league which means our Elite teams all have spots in the Elite 9. The other teams are determined by a Parity Tournament at the start of the season within the Boston Hockey League. This ensures that the league is competitive from top to bottom!

2. What leagues do your Premier teams play in?

The Avs Premier teams play in the very competitive Boston Hockey League, www.bostonhockeyleague.com. This league is at many levels the 3rd most competitive league in New England! Don't be fooled by the name of a team if you want your child to play where he will get great competition and development!

3. Our Mite division has teams ranging from an introductory level with strictly cross ice games, to a group with a hybrid season of cross ice and full ice, to our full-time full ice group.  We create a path for a newer skater to move through our mite program all the way to a full ice level in preparation for squirt.

4. How is your player development and coaching?

The Avs pride themselves on having quality coaching and development. Each team gets 2 practices a week & also receive weekly ice time sessions during the spring before parity.

The Avs squirt to bantam teams generally play between 40-55 games, mite teams play 20-40 depending on level.  Our E9 and BHL Teams generally play 32 league games and the Avalanche pay for 2 tournaments for our full season teams and provide ice for scrimmages. Our Mite Hybrid and Mite Full Ice team receive 1 covered tournament as well. This provides an excellent practice to game ratio, as most teams get around 70 practices!
